* Linntown Elementary School Poetry Book - I am looking for a poetry pamphlet that was used in Linntown Elementary School during the 50's. The pamphlet was passed out as a texbookt to each student and there were different colors for each grade level. Each year we had to memorize a certain number of poems from the pamphlet.
I have tried to locate these pamphlets but have had no luck even on the internet. I do not know the name or the publisher. However, my classmates remember that we used these pamphlets.
If anyone has a copy or a set of these poetry pamphlets, I would like to know and perhaps get copies from you. Or if anyone knows of an archive of texts from Eastern Joint Elementary, please contact me.

* The Tent Restaurant Relish Recipe - Betsy Roush Aikman ('64) is looking for a recipe for her friend Becky Cooke Burgee. This recipe is for the relish (used on sandwiches) that was traditionally served at The Tent. When the restaurant was open, you could purchase the relish but the owners did not give out their recipe. The owners are no longer living, so if you have a copy of the secret recipe, we would be most grateful if you would share it. Thank you in advance - Betsy Roush Aikman '64

* Reunion Tours of HS - High School Principal, David Himes wrote "It is great to know that our alumni continue to feel connected to the District. Each year, I have had the opportunity to give tours of the high school to classes that are celebrating a reunion and find these tours to be very enjoyable. During the tour, I always point out the things that have been accomplished as a result of the generosity of the Alumni Association and encourage participants to join the organization." Reunion classes desiring a tour of the high school should contact David Himes at 570-523-3220 or email him at himes_d@dragon.k12.pa.us.

* Auditorium Improvements Completed- The Lewisburg Area High School auditorium improvements are complete. Over the past two years, the Lewisburg Area High School Foundation spent approximately $153,000 on improvements to the high school auditorium. The improvemnets included painting the stage ($4000), new stage curtains ($20,300), new stage floor ($11,700), new stage lighting and electrical work ($53,217), new carpeting ($12,824) and a new sound system ($55,000). In addition, the Foundation loaned the Lewisburg Area Music Association $3500 to purchase a truck to haul instruments to events, like football games and parades. That loan has been repaid in full. The Foundation thanks all alumni and friends who have made donations as well as the generous donation by the Edna Sherry Trust. At the December, 2009 High School Choral Concert, the renovated high school auditorium was dedicated and renamed Alumni Auditorium.
More Donations Needed - To pay for the sound system, our Alumni Foundation loaned our Alumni Association the necessary funds to complete the auditorium renovations. If all goes well with donations and alumni & friends continue to be as generous as they have been in 2008 and 2009, the Association will be able to quickly repay its loan to the Foundation. Donations are needed and put to good use for the students of "Old LHS". Please consider donating to the LAHS Foundation. Checks (payable to Lewisburg Area High School Foundation) should be mailed to the Lewisburg Area High School Foundation, PO Box 228, Lewisburg, PA 17837. All donations are tax deductible.

* US News and World Report names Lewisburg Area High School as a Silver Medal School - Each year the publication ranks high schools throughout the country and recognizes three categories of distinction: gold, silver and bronze. The silver medal distinction identifies Lewisburg High School as one of the top 604 high schools in the country or in the top 3% of the more than 21,000 high schools analyzed. Only one school in Pennsylvania received Gold Medal recognition and Lewisburg shares the Silver Medal recognition with 19 other schools. (read more)
